Raise Funds for MHPF
In order for MHPF to achieve its goals, it needs support. The development of the schools and the creation of stable environments in the regions where the schools are based all need financial investment.
Through our relationship with the schools that we support, we are in a unique position to show exactly where funds are spent. We would even welcome your input as to where you would like your funds to be invested.MHPF can guarantee that 100% of funds donated to our causes will be used to benefit the children and people that we support in Africa.
We would welcome fund raising for any person that believes in our cause. If you are interested in raising funds and would like to speak to us about it or ask for our support, please get in touch through the form below.
Take Part In A Challenge
We are excited to announce that in 2011, Matthew Norton will be running a number of challenges, which people can sign up to to stretch themselves, whilst raising funds for MHPF.
From Spring until Autumn, there will be hiking challenges that include the National 3 Peaks, Yorkshire 3 Peaks, Lake District 10 Peaks and the Lake District 4! Each of these challenges will challenge people to stretch themselves whilst making a huge difference to a good cause.
Each challenge will require a minimum donation, which will cover the cost of putting on the event with the rest of the funds going to MHPF. Whilst we would love each challenger to raise over and above for MHPF, it is each challengers decision whether they raise the additional money for another charity.
Watch this space for more details of the challenges! We look forward to seeing you soon!
'Re-Cycle for Africa'
To help provide the basic supplies needed to operate a school, MHPF are asking people to consider 'Recycling for Africa'. Through this initative, we are asking people to consider what they have at home or in the workplace that they no longer want or use, but that would be useful for the children at the MHPF schools. Before you empty old pens and pencils into the bin, please consider the children that would value what you may view as waste. The tons of Pens from conferences, or pencils that have been sharpened to half their length will all be valuable to MHPF schools.
In support of this initiative, we were delighted when HBoS plc held a recycle event where colleagues from the organisation collected wonderful levels of stationary. The stationary was distributed to all MHPf schools as well as wider neighbouring schools to support stability. The picture to the left shows the children with the items from a collection, with the children even wearing t-shirts from the event!
Events could be as big or small as you like, but anything collected would make a real difference. If you would like to host a 'Recycle for Africa' event, please get in touch through the contact form below and we would be glad to support you where we can.
Sponsor a Child
It's often easy to feel helpless towards the struggles that people face in Africa. Through child sponsorship you truly can do something to offer hope by doing something special. By sponsoring a child, you are giving an opportunity for that child to attend school and have guaranteed education, food and healthcare. You are offering an opportunity of a future.
The cost to sponsor a child at Memusi or TEAM is $30 (or £15) per month. That cost will cover the expense of sending a child to school. It will ensure that the child gets a balanced meal, milk and a snack while at school. It will ensure that they get medical treatment when needed. It will provide a uniform and will provide school equipment for a child. It will most importantly offer hope to the child that you sponsor.
If you are interested in sponsoring a child in Kenya or Tanzania, please get in touch with the Maasai Heritage Preservation Foundation (MHPF) at cycleforafrica@yahoo.co.uk. In return for your sponsorship, the MHPF will guarantee:
- Quarterly updates about how your sponsored child is progressing and what your contributions are doing for that individual child.
- Photographs of the child.
- Letters from your sponsored child. We also encourage our sponsors to maintain communication with the child through letters if desired.
We promote communication between the child, family and its sponsor. We believe that it is important that communication opportunities are created, showing the massive benefit that you are having on the child.
At the Maasai Heritage Preservation Foundation we guarantee that all money donated through child sponsorship will go towards directly benefiting the child that you sponsor. The Foundation is a Non-Profit organisation and no money is taken for running costs.
